Yeji's Dedication/100th Day Celebration

This past Sunday September 27th was Yeji's Dedication and her 100th day celebration. She was not a happy camper that morning due to our early morning arise, but my question is she has no problem waking me up in the middle of the night, but her world came crashing down when we decided to wake her up, go figure.

My dilemma the day before was her outfit and I had found this white knit hat with black flower that my mom bought from Korea and Yeji just rocked the look, however no outfit to go with. So I had to drag myself in the pouring rain to the mall but no luck at finding a white/black dress and I remembered seeing something from Carter's so here I went to Carter's and picked up the white dress with black polkadots with black leggings - it was a perfect match.

Charles and I had to drive separately to church that morning so that I can get ready and he can go pick up her cake, which was verrry yummy by the way. Go Publix! I initially wanted a number cut-out cake of the number 100 but it came out a bit pricey so I opted for a sheet cake that was half chocolate and half vanilla with pretty flower designs and the number 100.

After getting our cranky Yeji ready and barely having time to get ready myself I sped down to church thinking I was gonna be late but everyone was relaxed and enjoying themselves to muffins and coffee and I thought to myself "I could've taken my time to look a little decent this morning" boohoo~

The dedication ceremony was wonderful and was so thankful to have a church so loving and caring. We were joined by both of our parents Pastor Tim graciously prayed for Yeji and read out a scripture given by Charles' mom that read "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" Luke 2:52. And I prayed that Yeji will also grow in wisdom and stature, following God and his words and be gentle and kind to others.

After the dedication ceremony, my brother, Katie, April, Sharon and Jack and their beautiful daughter Isabel joined us for Yeji's 100th day event. We all had a wonderful lunch, rice cake and all, and enjoyed our time together.












Now a brief history/culture lesson on the significance of the 100th Day celebration. Back in the days, a long long time ago, babies often didn't make it early on due to lack of medical care and what not so they believed that once the baby reached 100 days old they have a good chance of surviving. So they celebrated the 100th day with a white rice cake called "Bek-Sur-Gi" Bek meaning 100 and also the color white, a perfect cake for the occasion.

Ok so anyway, we got home soon after lunch and all passed out, the end.

Sorry for the unorganized and rather erratic entry but this mama is tired and needs to finish this before our princess wakes up =)
